On Sunday, the Washington Mystics visit the Seattle Storm for Game 2 of the best of five WNBA Finals. The Mystics were beaten by the Storm in Game 1 89-76. Jewell Loyd hit 9 of 12 field goals for a team-high 23 points, while Breanna Stewart, recently named the WNBA MVP of the regular season, scored 22 for Seattle.

Washington started slow trailing 24-13 after one quarter and trailed by 17 points at the half. The Mystics could not find any rhythm in the third quarter and trailed by 25 points entering the fourth. Washington did outscore the Storm by 11 points during the fourth but the game was already a foregone conclusion. Ariel Atkins led the Mystics in the loss with 23 points. Team high scorer Elena Delle Donne scored just 10 points and was double-teamed each time she touched the ball.
After seven games of the postseason, Elena Delle Donne leads the Mystics in scoring and rebounding averaging 19.5 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. Two other players, led by Ariel Atkins (16.2 ppg) are scoring in double figures for the Mystics. Natasha Cloud leads the team in assists with an average of 5.0 per game. Washington scored an average of 84.6 points per game during the regular season.

After six games of the playoffs, Breanna Stewart leads the Storm in scoring and rebounding with averages of 23.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Natasha Howard is the second leading scorer averaging 14.8 points per game. Sue Bird leads Seattle in assists with an average of 6.8 per game. Seattle scored an average of 87.3 points per game during the regular season.

This game should be closer than the 13-point difference in Game 1, but the Storm may have found a way to contain Elena Delle Donne by double and triple teaming the high scorer and forcing passes, while making the rest of the team hit jump shots. Washington must find a way on defense to contain the inside out game of Steward and Loyd or this series will end quickly. Take the home chalk in Game 2. Final Score Prediction, Seattle Storm win and cover ATS 87-79.
