On Friday, the Washington Mystics (5-1) head west on Friday to play the Las Vegas Aces (0-3) in a WNBA game. Washington won its fifth game of the season on Wednesday downing the Phoenix Mercury 103-95. The Mystics were led by Kristi Toliver who scored 30 points and Tianna Hawkins who added 13 points to go with 12 rebounds. Washington trails the undefeated Connecticut Sun by a half game in the Eastern Conference. Las Vegas is still looking for its first win of the season after falling to the Seattle Storm in its last outing 105-98. The Aces were led in their home opener by A’ja Wilson with 27 points and Nia Coffey with 23 points. The Aces play on Thursday in Seattle making this game the second half of a back-to-back for Las Vegas.
Kristi Toliver leads the Mystics in scoring and is second in assists with average of 17.7 points and 3.0 assists per game. Elena Delle Donne is the second leading scorer and leading rebounder with average of 16.5 points and 7.3 points per game. The leader in assists is Natasha Cloud with an average of 5.0 per game. Toliver is shooting 47.9% from the field hitting 35 of her 73 field goal attempts.
Kayla McBride, who has played just one game after ending her Turkish Pro League season, leads the Aces in scoring averaging 21.0 points per game. The second leading scorer and leading rebounder is A’ja Wilson with average of 19.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Lindsay Allen leads the team in assists averaging 4.0 per game. McBride in her first game shot 56.3% from the field going 9-for-16.
