In Tuesday night NBA action, the Minnesota Timberwolves will visit the Smoothie King Center to battle the New Orleans Pelicans. The Timberwolves (17-42) have lost eight of their previous games and own the second worst record in the West. On Sunday, Minnesota was unable to take advantage of Luka Doncic’s absence during a 111-91 home loss versus Dallas.

Minnesota G D’Angelo Russell tallied a team high 16 points on an inefficient 6-for-18 shooting effort. Juan Hernangomez added 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Timberwolves.

The New Orleans Pelicans have won six of their last ten games and have moved to within three games of Memphis for eighth place in the Western Conference standings. On Sunday, New Orleans was outscored by ten points during the fourth quarter of a 122-114 home loss versus the Los Angeles Lakers. The Pelicans (26-34) dominated the Lakers on the glass by a 65-44 margin, but shot just 42 percent from the floor.

Number one overall draft pick Zion Williamson led all scorers with 35 points on 12-for-16 shooting. Lonzo Ball added 19 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists for the Pelicans.

Minnesota C Karl-Anthony Towns is recovering from a fractured left wrist and hopes to play again this season. This is one of the highest totals of the season and it isn’t set high enough. Look for these two teams to soar over the total on Tuesday. Final Score Prediction, New Orleans Pelicans win in high scoring over game 133-122.
