Minnesota Timberwolves at Brooklyn Nets 10/14/21 - NBA Picks & Predictions

Last Updated: 10/14/2021 at 4:41 PM ET

In Thursday night NBA preseason action, the Minnesota Timberwolves will travel to the Barclays Center to take on the Brooklyn Nets. The Timberwolves finished last season 26 games below .500 and ranked third worst in defensive efficiency. On Monday, Minnesota outscored the LA Clippers by 18 points during the second half of a 128-100 road triumph.

D’Angelo Russell led five Minnesota players in double figures with 19 points and nine assists. Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 17 points and nine rebounds for the Timberwolves.

The Brooklyn Nets are considered one of favorites to win the NBA Championship and will not have the services of Kyrie Irving until he can play on a full-time basis. Brooklyn F Kevin Durant remains the most talented scorer in the league and averaged 26.9 points per game a season ago. James Harden (10.9 apg) took on more of a playmaking role for the Nets, who finished with a 48-24 record.

On Monday, Brooklyn trailed by 19 points at halftime during a 115-104 road loss against Philadelphia. Kevin Durant tallied a team-high 23 points on 9-for-13 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds.

Brooklyn G Kyrie Irving (personal) is reportedly not anti-vaccine and he is upset that people are losing their jobs over vaccine mandates. The Nets looked out of sync against the 76ers and I expect them to be much sharper in this game. Final Score Prediction, Brooklyn Nets win and cover 121-110.
