Milwaukee Bucks at Boston Celtics 5/3/22 - NBA Picks & Predictions

In the first game of a Tuesday night NBA on TNT doubleheader, the Milwaukee Bucks will battle the Boston Celtics from TD Garden. In the series opener, Milwaukee built a ten-point halftime lead and never trailed during the second half of a 101-89 road triumph. The defending NBA Champion Bucks (51-31) outscored the Celtics 34-20 in the paint and nailed 12-for-34 from the three-point line.

Milwaukee G Jrue Holiday led all scorers with 25 points on 8-for-20 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds. All-Star F Giannis Antetokounmpo contributed 24 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists for the Bucks.

The Boston Celtics shook off a sluggish start to the season for rookie head coach Ime Udoka and finished ranked second in defensive efficiency. On Sunday, Boston settled for too many jump shots and ended up 18-for-50 from beyond the arc. The second-seeded Celtics (51-31) were outrebounded by a 54-48 margin and shot just 33 percent overall.

All-Star F Jayson Tatum led five Boston players in double figures with 21 points (6-18 FG) and six assists. Veteran F/C Al Horford added 12 points and ten rebounds in a losing effort for the Celtics.

Milwaukee G/F Khris Middleton suffered a Grade 2 left MCL sprain and is unlikely to play in this round. Boston’s dynamic wing duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum combined to shoot 10-for-31 from the field in the series opener. Look for the Celtics to bounce back and cover at home. Final Score Prediction, Boston Celtics win 112-103.
