Eastern Conference foes will clash on Sunday evening, when the Miami Heat invade Little Caesars Arena to face the Detroit Pistons. This will be the second of a back-to-back on the road for Miami, who currently sit in seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. On Wednesday, Miami outscored Memphis by 16 points during the third quarter and cruised to a 138-119 home victory. 

All-Star C Bam Adebayo led all scorers with 26 points on 10-for-15 shooting and pulled down eight boards. Tyler Herro chipped in 24 points (9-14 FG) and six assists. Jimmy Butler added 23 points (11-12 FT), eight rebounds, and six assists for the Heat.

The Detroit Pistons have dropped 13 of their last 14 games and own the worst overall record in the league. On Thursday, Detroit was outscored by 19 points during the third quarter of a 119-110 home loss versus Denver. The Pistons (16-55) were outrebounded by a 47-37 margin and managed just 14 points over the final 12 minutes. 

Rodney McGruder led seven Detroit players in double figures with 20 points and eight rebounds. Rookie C Jalen Duran scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in 27 minutes off the bench. Rookie G Jaden Ivey added 14 points and six assists for the Pistons, who connected on 12-for-27 from the three-point line.

Miami G Kyle Lowry (knee soreness) did not play in Saturday’s game and is expected to play in this contest. The Heat rank fifth in the league in defensive efficiency and the Pistons rank near the bottom of the league in that category. Take Miami to cover on the road.
