The 2023 NBA Finals will tip-off on Thursday night, when the Miami Heat invade Ball Arena to take on the Denver Nuggets. The eighth-seeded Heat are making their seventh appearance in the NBA Finals since 2005 and rank fifth during the playoffs in offensive efficiency. On Monday, Miami built an 11-point halftime lead and cruised to a stunning 103-84 road victory against Boston.

Miami G/F Butler tallied a game-high 28 points on 12-for-28 shooting to go along with seven rebounds and six assists. Caleb Martin continued his breakout postseason with 26 points (11-16 FG) and ten rebounds. All-Star C Bam Adebayo contributed 12 points, ten rebounds, and seven assists for the Heat.

The Denver Nuggets are making their first NBA Finals appearance in franchise history and lead the postseason in offensive efficiency. The top-seeded Nuggets are undefeated through eight home playoff games and have won those games by an average of 12 points. Last time out, Denver closed out a sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers with a 113-111 road victory.

Two-time MVP Nikola Jokic led five Denver players in double figures with 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 assists. Jamal Murray scored 25 points on 10-for-18 shooting and dished out five assists. Aaron Gordon chipped in 22 points and six rebounds for the Nuggets, who shot 48 percent from the field.

Miami G Tyler Herro fractured his hand in the first game of the postseason and hopes to return for Game Three of the NBA Finals. Coming off a grueling seven game series, this is a tough turnaround for the Heat. Look for Denver’s length to cause problems in a series opening comfortable win and cover. Final Score Prediction, Denver Nuggets win 118-103.
