The Phoenix Mercury look for their third straight victory on Sunday when they visit the Pacific Northwest to play the Seattle Storm. Seattle defeated the Chicago Sky on Friday 79-76 to improve to 8-5 on the season and take sole possession of first place in the Western Conference. Jordin Canada led the Storm with 17 points, while Natasha Howard chipped in with 14 points and nine boards. DeWanna Bonner leads the Mercury in scoring and in rebounding with averages of 20.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. Brittney Griner is second in scoring and second in rebounding with averages of 17.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Leilani Mitchell leads in assists with an average of 4.7 per game.

Natasha Howard leads the Storm in scoring and rebounding with averages of 18.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game, while Jewell Loyd is second in scoring with an average of 15.8 per game. Jordin Canada is leading the Storm in assists with an average of 4.8 per game. Just two players are averaging double-figures in scoring for Seattle.

Phoenix has played inconsistently early this season playing one game very well and looking lost the next. Seattle has not played as well this season as last but nonetheless is leading the Western Conference at 8-5.
