The Phoenix Mercury visit the Chicago Sky on Sunday in search of their third straight victory. On Thursday, the Mercury defeated the Atlanta Dream 65-58. Brittney Griner led the Mercury with 21 points. With the win, Phoenix clinched a playoff spot and currently is the eighth and final seed, but could move higher with a win.

Chicago lost its second straight and fell to 18-13 after losing to the Dallas Wings 88-83 on Thursday. Nonetheless, the Sky has clinched a playoff spot for the first time in the last two seasons. Courtney Vandersloot led the Sky in the loss with 19 points, while handing out seven assists. Diamond DeShields added 17 in the loss for the Sky.

Brittney Griner is the leading scorer and second in rebounding for Phoenix with averages of 20.5 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. DeWanna Bonner is second in scoring and leading in rebounding with averages of 18.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Leilani Mitchell leads in assists with an average of 4.0 per game. 

Diamond DeShields leads the Sky in scoring with an average of 15.8 points per game. Jantel Lavender is out injured; therefore Cheyenne Parker  with an average of 5.7 per game leads the Sky in rebounding. Courtney Vandersloot is the leader in assists with an average of 9.0 per game. Four players are averaging double-figures in scoring for the Sky. 

Both have clinched playoff spots and both can move up in seeding before the regular season ends making this a game with postseason implications. Phoenix has failed to cover each of the last 4 head to head with Chicago.
