In the first of a NBA ESPN Doubleheader, the red hot Memphis Grizzles will look to extend their five game season opening winning streak against the injury depleted Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Grizzlies 5-0 start to the season is the best in franchise history. Memphis is fresh off an impressive 102-91 road victory coming Wednesday night at Phoenix. After trailing by six at halftime, the Grizzlies outscored the Suns 56-39 in the second half. Mike Conley led the way with 24 points and 11 assists for Memphis. The Grizzlies shot 50% from the field on the night.

Through five games, Memphis ranks 23rd in scoring offense and 1st in scoring defense.
It has not been the start the Oklahoma City Thunder envisioned when they entered training camp. Injuries to All-Stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook have changed things dramatically for the Thunder. Head coach Scott Brooks is just looking for combinations that can stay competitive and win a few games until he gets his stars back. On Tuesday, Oklahoma City were taken down 100-88 in Toronto. Serge Ibaka scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Reggie Jackson added 14 assists in a losing effort.

The Thunder won their only home game of the season on November 1st, defeating the Denver Nuggets 102-91.

Free NBA Pick:

Oklahoma City Thunder +8.5

Oklahoma City F Perry Jones injured his knee in Tuesday’s loss and did not practice on Thursday. The Thunder will definitely need the crowd to be their 6th man, and sadly might need to use someone from their crowd as their 5th man. However, I still believe the Thunder will find a way to keep things close. Final Score Prediction, Memphis Grizzlies win but fail to cover ATS 96-90.
