In the first game of a Friday NBA TV doubleheader, the Memphis Grizzlies will invade State Farm Arena to take on the Atlanta Hawks. The Grizzlies (48-22) are riding a four-game winning streak and hold a one-game lead over Golden State for second place in the West. On Tuesday, Memphis forced 20 turnovers and shot 51 percent from the field during a 135-102 road triumph against Indiana.
Desmond Bane led seven Memphis players in double figures with 21 points and six assists. Jaren Jackson Jr. contributed 19 points and eight rebounds for the Grizzlies.
The Atlanta Hawks have won 22 of their 35 home games and trail Charlotte by a half-game for ninth place in the East. On Wednesday, Atlanta was outscored by 15 points during the second half of a 116-106 road loss against Charlotte. The Hawks (34-35) were outscored 60-48 in the paint and allowed the Hornets to shoot 49 percent from the field.
De’Andre Hunter led five Atlanta players in double figures with 21 points on 7-for-13 shooting. Clint Capela added 17 points and 15 rebounds in a losing effort for the Hawks.
