The Minnesota Lynx (2-4) look to snap a three-game losing streak when they visit the Los Angeles Sparks (3-1) on Sunday in a WNBA Western Conference showdown.
The Lynx were beaten on Friday night by Phoenix 95-85 snapping their 13-game winning streak over the Mercury. This is the first time the Lynx have lost three straight since June of 2016 and last season did not lose their third game overall until August 6. In the loss, Maya Moore scored 25 points to lead the Lynx.
Los Angeles has not played since last Sunday when they beat the Phoenix Mercury 80-72. Chelsea Gray led the sparks with 23 points while handing out nine assists. Nneka Ogwumike added 19 in the win for the Sparks.
Maya Moore leads the Lynx in scoring with an average of 17.3 points per game. Sylvia Fowles is the second leading scorer and leading rebounder with averages of 16.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. Only one other player, Seimone Augustus is averaging double figures in scoring at 11.7 points per game. The leader in assists is Lindsay Whalen with an average of 4.5 per game.
Nneka Ogwumike leads the Sparks in scoring and rebounding with averages of 20.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. The second leading scorer and leader in assists is Chelsea Gray with averages of 18.5 points and 7.5 assists per game. Two other players for the Sparks Odyssey Sims (18.0 ppg) and Candace Parker (10.0 ppg) are averaging double figures in scoring. Ogwumike is shooting 62.7% from the field hitting 32 of her 51 field goal attempts.
