The Minnesota Lynx (2-5) look to snap a four-game losing streak when they visit the Washington Mystics (5-3) in a WNBA Thursday night showdown.
In their last outing the Lynx lost to the Los Angeles Sparks 77-69 on Sunday. The Lynx trailed 40-38 at the half but scored just 10 points during the third quarter hitting just 4 of their 16 field goals. Maya Moore led the Lynx with 18 points in the loss.
Washington has lost two straight after falling to the Connecticut Sun 88-64 on Sunday. The Mystics hit just 3 of their 21 shots from three-point territory. In the loss, Ariel Atkins led Washington with 14 points. Elena Delle Donne missed her fourth consecutive game due to illness. Donne is out indefinitely with her sickness and that is a big blow to for the Mystics scoring and rebounding.
Maya Moore leads the Lynx in scoring and is third in rebounding averaging 17.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. The second leading scorer and leading rebounder is Sylvia Fowles averaging 16.1 points and 11.9 rebounds per game. Lindsay Whalen leads the Lynx in assists averaging 3.9 per game. Fowles is shooting 59.5% from the field hitting 44 of her 74 field goal attempts.
Kristi Toliver, in Elena Delle Donne’s absence, leads the team in scoring averaging 14.4 points per game. The leading rebounder is Tianna Hawkins with an average of 5.9 per game.
