Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State Warriors 10/9/22 - NBA Picks & Predictions

The Los Angeles Lakers play their fourth game of the NBA preseason on Sunday when visiting the Golden State Warriors. Los Angeles is 0-3 through the first three games after losing to Sacramento, Phoenix and Minnesota. In the most recent loss to Minnesota, Thomas Bryant was the leading scorer for the Lakers with 18 points, while stars such as LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook did not play.

Expect to see Los Angeles have James, Davis and Westbrook on the court Sunday when visiting Golden State. Scottie Pippen Jr., who is battling for a spot on the roster after being drafted out of Vanderbilt, scored 14 points for Los Angeles in its loss versus Minnesota and handed out seven assists. Max Christie, another rookie out of Michigan State, played well with 11 points.

Golden State will be playing its third game of the preseason when hosting the Lakers on Sunday. Golden State is 2-0 through the first two games of the preseason. The Warriors defeated the Washington Wizards in each of the two games, opening with a 96-87 victory on the road followed by a 104-95 victory over the Wizard at home. A bit of internal strife took place this week for Golden State when Draymond Green was involved in an altercation with Jordan Poole at the team’s practice facility. 

In the Warriors most recent victory over the Washington Wizards, Stephen Curry was the leading scorer for Golden State with 17 points. Andrew Wiggins scored 10 points and was the only other starter for the Warriors scoring in double figures. Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala did not play for the Warriors. Golden State Warriors was led in rebounds by Kevon Looney with seven and Draymond Green handed out a team-high five assists.

Although this will be a preseason matchup, expect both teams to have their stars on the court at least through the first half. Los Angeles is attempting to mesh the addition of Patrick Beverley to their lineup play alongside LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. Golden State will have its “Big 3” of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green on the court as well. Look for Golden State to win its third consecutive preseason game and Los Angeles to lose its fourth straight. Final Score Prediction Golden State Warriors win and cover ATS 117-107.
