The New York Liberty look to snap a seven-game losing streak on Sunday with a visit to the desert southwest to play the short-handed Phoenix Mercury. The short-handed Mercury played its second straight game without team high-scorer Brittney Griner who is serving a three-game suspension and will not be available for Sunday’s game. Tina Charles is leading New York in scoring and rebounding with averages of 17.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Kia Nurse is second in scoring with an average of 14.2 points per game. Brittany Boyd is the assists leader with an average of 4.8 per game. Just Charles and Nurse are averaging double figures in scoring for the Liberty.

Brittney Griner is the leading scorer and second in rebounding for Phoenix with averages of 19.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. DeWanna Bonner is second in scoring and leading in rebounding with averages of 18.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Leilani Mitchell leads in assists with an average of 4.3 per game.

Phoenix will be short-handed without Griner in the lineup for one more game, but the Mercury will come through at home with a win and cover.
