On Friday, LA was outscored by 27 points during the second quarter of a 121-92 road loss against Utah.
Robert Covington tallied a team-high 18 points and six rebounds in 30 minutes off the Clippers’ bench. The LA starting five combined to score just 25 points on a woeful 9-for-29 shooting effort.
The Denver Nuggets are six games above .500 at home and are tied with Minnesota for sixth place in the West. On Sunday, Denver trailed by 25 points at halftime during a 124-104 home loss versus streaking Boston. The Nuggets (42-30) were outscored 44-36 in the paint and allowed the Celtics to shoot a sizzling 57 percent from the field.
All-Star C Nikola Jokic led Denver with 23 points on 8-for-23 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds. Aaron Gordon added 13 points and four rebounds in a losing effort for the Nuggets.
