The New York Knicks continue their west coast swing on Monday with their visit to the Pacific Northwest to play the Portland Trail Blazers. The Knicks defeated the short-handed Los Angeles Lakers on Friday 119-112. Tim Hardaway Jr. led the Knicks with 22 points, while Trey Burke scored 15, as the Knicks snapped an eight-game losing streak with the win.
Portland defeated the Houston Rockets on Saturday 110-101. The Trail Blazers were led by Jusuf Nurkic with 25 points and 15 boards. Portland also snapped the 40-point scoring streak of James Harden by holding the league’s top scorer to 38 points. Portland handled the ball well committing just nine turnovers in the game.
Tim Hardaway Jr. leads the Knicks in scoring with an average of 20.6 points per game. Enes Kanter is second in scoring and first in rebounding with averages of 14.4 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. Emmanuel Mudlay leads the Knicks in assists with an average of 4.0 per game. The Knicks are shooting 43.2% from the field and 34.7% from 3-point territory.
Damian Lillard is leading Portland in scoring and assists with averages of 26.4 points and 6.0 assists per game. Jusuf Nurkic is the leader in rebounding with an average of 10.5 per game. CJ McCollum is the second leading scorer with an average of 20.9 points per game. The Trail Blazers are shooting 45.5% from the field and 35.4% from three-point territory.
