Knicks at Pistons 2/8/19 - NBA Picks & Predictions

The Friday NBA schedule will tip-off with a matchup between the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons from Little Caesars Arena.

The Knicks have lost 14 games in a row and have their sights set on making a splash in free agency this summer. Last time out, New York managed just 38 points during the second half of a 105-92 home loss versus Detroit. The Knicks outrebounded the Pistons by a 55-50 margin and shot 40 percent from the field.

Newly acquired Dennis Smith Jr. tallied a team high 25 points on 25 shot attempts. Rookie F Kevin Knox added 11 points and seven rebounds in a losing effort for the Knicks. The Detroit Pistons have won consecutive games and trail Miami by 1.5 games for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. On Tuesday, Detroit came out on fire and scored 36 points over the first 12 minutes against New York. The Pistons turned the ball over just 11 times and shot 47 percent from the floor.

Detroit F Blake Griffin led all scorers with 29 points on 10-for-17 shooting and dished out eight assists. Andre Drummond contributed 17 points and 16 rebounds for the Pistons.

New York G Emmanuel Mudiay suffered a left shoulder strain and will miss the next couple of weeks. The Knicks rank third worst in the league in defensive efficiency and will play more uptempo as they continue to play younger players. Take the over in the rematch. Final Score Prediction, Detroit Pistons win high scoring game 111-103.
