Last Updated: 08/08/2019 at 4:38 AM ET

The Monday NBA schedule will tip-off with a matchup between the New York Knicks and Charlotte Hornets from the Spectrum Center. This will be the second of a back-to-back for the Knicks, who were outscored by 17 points during the third quarter of last night’s 106-97 home loss versus Miami. New York missed 19 of their 26 three-point attempts on the night.

New York G Tim Hardaway Jr. tallied a team high 22 points on a 7-for-16 shooting performance. The rest of the starters combined to score just 16 points on 7-for-19 from the field.
The Charlotte Hornets have split their previous ten games and are leading Washington by two full games for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. On Friday, Charlotte was unable to hold onto an 11-point lead entering the fourth quarter and fell at Milwaukee by a 108-99 final score. The Hornets managed just 12 points over the final 12 minutes and shot 40 percent from the field overall.

Nicolas Batum led five Charlotte players in double figures with 19 points and six rebounds. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist added 16 points and seven rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench.

Charlotte G Kemba Walker is dealing with a mild neck strain and should be fine to play in this contest. The Knicks rank second worst in defensive efficiency and are playing on consecutive nights. The trends point the over and that will be the play on Monday. Final Score Prediction, Charlotte Hornets win in high scoring over game 119-110.
