Kings at Hornets 1/22/18 - NBA Picks & Predictions

The Monday NBA schedule will tip off with a meeting between the Sacramento Kings and the Charlotte Hornets from the Spectrum Center. The Kings have dropped seven straight games and are tied for the worst record in the league with just 13 wins. On Friday, Sacramento was outscored by 13 points during the first quarter of a 106-88 road loss against Memphis. The Kings turned the ball over 21 times and shot just 40 percent from the field on the night.

Rookie De’Aaron Fox led five Sacramento players in double figures with 16 points and six assists. Veteran F Vince Carter nailed five of six long range attempts and chipped in 15 points for the Kings. The Charlotte Hornets have won six of their last ten games, but still have plenty of work to get into playoff contention. The Hornets are currently ten games below .500 overall and 4.5 games behind Milwaukee for the final playoff spot in the East. On Saturday, Charlotte blew a five point lead in the final 34 seconds of a stunning 106-105 home loss versus Miami. The Hornets were outscored 33-22 over the final 12 minutes and shot 45 percent from the field.

Nicolas Batum converted 9 of his 10 free-throw attempts and finished with a game high 26 points. Dwight Howard added 14 points and 15 rebounds for the Hornets.

Sacramento F Harry Giles (knee) has been ruled out for the entire 2017-2018 season. The Kings rank last in offensive and defensive efficiency. The Hornets have not been playing well enough at home to back as favorites, so the over is the play. Final Score Prediction, Charlotte Hornets win and cover ATS 113-101.
