Capital One Arena will play host to a Friday night NBA clash between the Indiana Pacers and the Washington Wizards. The Pacers (34-38) missed the playoffs last season and hired Rick Carlisle to become their head coach. On Wednesday, Indiana was unable to protect a 16-point halftime lead during a 123-122 road loss against Charlotte.

All-Star C Domantas Sabonis led all scorers with 33 points on 13-for-19 shooting and pulled down 15 rebounds. Malcolm Brogdon added 28 points and 11 assists for the Pacers.

The Washington Wizards finished last season four games below .500 and were bounced by Philadelphia in the first round of the playoffs. On Wednesday, Washington built a 20-point halftime lead and cruised to a 98-83 road victory. The Wizards held the Raptors to 31 percent shooting and led by as many as 29 points.

All-Star G Bradley Beal tallied a game-high 23 points to go along with four assists and four steals. Kyle Kuzma chipped in 11 points and 15 rebounds in his Washington debut.
