In Monday night NBA action, the Houston Rockets will travel to FTX Arena to battle the Miami Heat. This will be the second of a back-to-back for Houston, who outscored Memphis by 21 points during the second half to rally for a 123-112 home victory last night. The Rockets (16-48) nailed 13-for-34 from long distance and shot 52 percent overall.
Houston G Kevin Porter Jr. tallied a game-high 29 points on 11-for-21 shooting and dished out five assists. Christian Wood added 28 points and 13 rebounds for the Heat.
The Miami Heat have won 22 of their 29 home games and have opened up a three-game lead over Philadelphia for the top spot in the East. On Saturday, Miami limited Philadelphia to 14 points over the final 12 minutes to pull away for a 99-82 home victory. The Heat (43-22) connected on 13-for-28 from the three-point line and limited the 76ers to 34 percent from the field.
Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler led Miami with 21 points apiece on a combined 15-for-31 shooting. Caleb Martin contributed 14 points in 21 minutes off the bench for the Heat.
