Hornets at Wizards 12/29/18 - NBA Picks & Predictions

Southeast Division rivals will clash on Saturday night, when the Charlotte Hornets travel to Capital One Arena to take on the Washington Wizards.

The Hornets have split their first 34 games and are the only team in the division without a losing record. Last night, Charlotte defeated visiting Brooklyn in the second game of a home-and-home by a 100-87 final score. The Hornets led by 16 points after one quarter and limited the Nets to 40 percent shooting.

Charlotte G Kemba Walker knocked down seven three-pointers and finished with a team high 29 points. Cody Zeller chipped in 14 points and ten rebounds for the Hornets. The Washington Wizards have lost 23 of their first 36 games and are one of the most disappointing teams in the league. On Friday, Washington was outscored by seven points during the fourth quarter of a 101-92 home loss versus Chicago. The Wizards were outrebounded by a 46-40 margin and shot just 40 percent from the field in defeat.

All-Star G Bradley Beal tallied a game high 34 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists. Thomas Bryant added 12 points and eight rebounds in a losing effort for the Wizards.

Washington G John Wall is dealing with bone spurs in his left heel and is unlikely to play in this matchup. These two teams rank in the bottom half of the league in defensive efficiency, so the over is worth a play. The stronger bet is on Charlotte to win and cover. Final Score Prediction, Charlotte Hornets win and cover ATS 118-110.
