The Tuesday NBA schedule will get tip-off with a matchup between the Charlotte Hornets and Cleveland Cavaliers from Quicken Loans Arena.

The Hornets have won three straight games and trail Detroit by one full game in the race for the final playoff spot in the East. On Sunday, Charlotte limited Detroit to 16 points over the final 12 minutes of a 104-91 road victory. The Hornets outscored the Pistons by 13 points in the second quarter and limited them to 37 percent shooting overall.

All-Star G Kemba Walker led all scorers with 31 points to go along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Frank Kaminsky chipped in 24 points in 28 minutes off the Charlotte bench. The Cleveland Cavaliers have lost nine straight games and are tied with Phoenix for the second worst record in the league. On Sunday, Cleveland was outscored by 16 points during the second quarter of a 112-90 home loss versus San Antonio. The Cavaliers were outrebounded by a 54-44 margin and shot just 40 percent overall.

Brandon Knight and Collin Sexton led five Cleveland players in double figures with 16 points apiece. Larry Nance Jr. added 12 points and ten rebounds in a losing effort for the Cavaliers.

Charlotte C Cody Zeller (left knee soreness) will not play and F Marvin Williams (foot) is listed as doubtful for this contest. The Hornets rank 22nd in defensive efficiency and the Cavaliers rank last in that category, so the over is in play. Take Cleveland and the points at home.
