In the first game of a Monday night NBA TV doubleheader, the Miami Heat will visit the Toyota Center to take on the Houston Rockets. The Heat have won eight of their last ten games and are just a half-game behind Cleveland for third place in the Eastern Conference standings. On Saturday, Miami erased a five-point deficit in the final 34 seconds to score a stunning 106-105 victory in Charlotte. The Heat outscored the Hornets by a 33-22 margin in the final quarter and shot 49 percent from the field.

Kelly Olynyk hit the game winning free-throw with 0.2 seconds remaining and scored 14 of his 16 points during the fourth quarter. Wayne Ellington scored a game high 26 points on 10-for-15 from the field for the Heat.
The Houston Rockets have won consecutive games and are starting to have the look of a possible NBA champion. The Rockets are 20 games above 500 overall and trail Golden State by 3.5 games for the top spot in the West. On Saturday, Houston defeated Golden State for the second time in three tries this season. The Rockets scored 40 points during the first quarter and limited the Warriors to 17 points over the final 12 minutes to earn the 116-108 home victory.

Chris Paul led the way with a game high 33 points to go along with 11 rebounds and seven assists. James Harden added 22 points and eight assists for the Rockets.

Miami G Goran Dragic (knee) did not play on Saturday and is listed as day-to-day. The Rockets rank second in offensive efficiency, while the Heat rank 22nd in that category.
