Heat at Pistons 1/18/19 - NBA Picks, Predictions, & Odds

Little Caesars Arena will play host to a Friday night clash between the Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons.

The Heat have split their last ten games and are currently tied with Brooklyn for sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. On Tuesday, Miami was outclassed during a 124-86 road loss at Milwaukee. The Heat trailed by 24 points at halftime and turned the ball over 18 times on the night.

Justise Winslow and Hassan Whiteside scored 19 points apiece to lead Miami in scoring. The rest of the Heat starters combined for just ten points on 5-for-19 from the field. The Detroit Pistons have dropped seven of their previous ten games and are a game behind Charlotte for the final playoff spot in the East. On Wednesday, Detroit limited visiting Orlando to just six points during the overtime period of a 120-115 victory. The Pistons outrebounded the Magic by a 59-47 margin and shot 48 percent from the floor.

Detroit F Blake Griffin tallied a game high 30 points on an 11-for-18 shooting performance. Andre Drummond contributed 14 points and 22 rebounds for the Pistons.

Miami G Tyler Johnson (illness) did not practice on Thursday and is listed as questionable for this contest. These two teams rank in the top half of the league in defensive efficiency, so the under is worth a look. The stronger play is on Miami to win outright as a small underdog. Final Score Prediction, Miami Heat win and cover ATS 105-100.
