Heat at Hawks 2/20/20 - NBA Picks & Predictions

Southeast Division foes will battle on Thursday night, when the Miami Heat travel to State Farm Arena to take on the Atlanta Hawks. The Heat (35-19) are three games below .500 on the road and trail Boston by three games for third place in the Eastern Conference standings. Last time out, Miami was outscored by 20 points during the second half of a 116-101 road loss against Utah.

All-Star G Jimmy Butler tallied a team high 25 points on 10-for-21 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds. Skills Challenge winner Bam Adebayo added nine points, 11 rebounds, and five assists for the Heat.

The Atlanta Hawks traded for rim-protecting C Clint Capela at the trade deadline and are positioned well to be a playoff contender next season. In their last game, Atlanta trailed by 14 points after one quarter of a disappointing 127-105 road loss against Cleveland. The Hawks (15-41) were outrebounded by a 60-43 margin and shot just 43 percent from the field.

All-Star G Trae Young matched a game-high with 27 points on 8-for-17 shooting and dished out 12 assists. John Collins added 23 points and four rebounds for the Hawks.

Miami G Tyler Herro (foot) will not play in this game and remains without a timetable to return. The Hawks rank third worst in the league in defensive efficiency and the Heat are a middle of the pack defensive unit. Take the over on Thursday. Final Score Prediction, Miami Heat win but our best play is the over total 122-116.
