The Heat have lost consecutive games and are clinging to a 1.5 game lead over Detroit for the final playoff spot in the East. Hassan Whiteside led five Miami players in double figures with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Josh Richardson added 17 points and five rebounds in a losing effort for the Heat. The Cleveland Cavaliers have lost five straight games and own the worst record in the league at 31 games below .500 overall. On Wednesday, Cleveland was outscored by 18 points during the second quarter of a 125-103 road loss against Boston. The Cavaliers outrebounded the Celtics by a 53-45 margin and shot 44 percent from the field.

Cleveland F Cedi Osman tallied a team high 25 points on 8-for-11 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds. Rookie G Collin Sexton chipped in 16 points and six rebounds for the Cavaliers.
