The Atlanta Hawks continue a swing through the west with a Monday visit to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Hawks were defeated on Saturday night by the Portland Trail Blazers 120-111. Trae Young led the Hawks in the loss with 30 points and eight assists. Atlanta led by one point at the half, but scored just 21 points in the decisive fourth quarter.
Los Angeles will be playing the second half of a back-to-back on Monday after hosting the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. The Clippers won their second straight game on Friday downing the Chicago Bulls 106-101. Lou Williams led the Clippers with a triple double scoring 31 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and handing out 10 assists. It was Williams’ first career triple double.
John Collins leads the Hawks in scoring and rebounding with averages of 19.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. Trae Young is the team leader in assists with 7.3 per game and second in scoring with 16.2 points per game. As a team, the Hawks are shooting 45.1% from the field and 33.8% from 3-point territory.
Tobias Harris leads the Clippers in scoring and rebounding with averages of 21.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. The leader in assists is Lou Williams with an average of 5.0 per game. Danilo Gallinari is the second leading scorer for Los Angeles with an average of 19.0 points per game. The Clippers are shooting 47.0% from the field and 38.2% from 3-point territory.
