Southwest Division rivals will clash on Monday night, when the Memphis Grizzlies travel to the Toyota Center to take on the Houston Rockets. The Grizzlies have lost seven of their previous eight games and have fallen into 14th place in the Western Conference standings. On Saturday, Memphis was unable to make the plays down the stretch of a 112-108 road loss at Miami. The Grizzlies missed 20 of their 29 long range attempts on the night.
JaMychal Green led five Memphis players in double figures with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Mike Conley added 22 points and seven assists in a losing effort for the Grizzlies.
The Houston Rockets have won 15 of their 21 home games and are currently tied for fifth place in the Western Conference standings. Last night, Houston was outscored by 14 points during the second half of a 116-109 road loss against Orlando. The Rockets were outrebounded by a 45-38 margin and shot 44 percent from the field.
Reigning MVP James Harden tallied a game high 38 points, but missed 16 of his 17 three-point attempts. Clint Capela added 17 points and ten rebounds in a losing effort for the Magic.
