Still, this is a team that has handled business most of the year behind MVP candidate Breanna Stewart. The Liberty rank third in the league in scoring at 88.3 points per game and have beaten teams with strong play at both ends, but they’ll likely be missing key pieces again with Jonquel Jones ruled out and Sabrina Ionescu questionable.

The Valkyries have gone 5-2 at home and are building momentum behind a balanced team effort. They’ve won four of the last five and are showing real confidence, especially on the offensive end, where ball movement has improved.

Defensively, Golden State is holding teams to 78.4 points per game while allowing just 39.8% shooting. That defensive edge, combined with 8.6 steals per game, has helped them hang around in games. Offensively, they’re scoring 79.0 points per game with Kahleah Thornton leading the charge at 15.2 points per game. She’s been the go-to weapon, but they’ll need more from the supporting cast to pull off an upset. The Valkyries don’t have any key injuries, which could give them an edge in depth for this one.
