On Thursday, the Indiana Fever (0-9) look for their first win of the season when they visit the Atlanta Dream (5-4) in the only WNBA game on the calendar.
The Fever were beaten in their last outing on Tuesday 101-92 in overtime by the Las Vegas Aces. The Fever were outscored 8-0 to start overtime and did not make a field goal in the extra period until less than a minute remained. Natalie Achonwa led the Fever with 26 points while grabbing 15 rebounds.
Atlanta was beaten by Los Angeles 72-64 on Tuesday night in its last outing. Tiffany Hayes led the Fever in scoring with 16 points. Jessica Breland chipped in with 14 points. The Dream shot a poor 38.5% from the field, while hitting only 2 of their 12 shots from three-point territory. Britney Sykes is questionable with a knee injury for Atlanta.
Kelsey Mitchell leads the Fever in scoring with an average of 19.1 points per game. Candice Dupree is the second leading scorer and second leading rebounding with averages of 14.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Natalie Achonwa leads the team in rebounds with an average of 7.7 per game. The leader in assists is Erica Wheeler averaging 4.6 per game.
Tiffany Hayes leads the Dream in scoring with an average of 18.6 points per game. Angel McCoughtry is second in scoring and rebounding averaging 15.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. The leading rebounder for the Dream is Jessica Breland averaging 9.0 per game. Renee Montgomery leads the team in assists with an average of 2.9 per game.
