On Tuesday, the Atlanta Dream (6-5) visit the New York Liberty for an Eastern Conference WNBA showdown.
The Dream lost to the Indiana Fever in their most recent outing 95-64. The Dream had beaten the Fever 72-67 in the first game of a home and home but were outscored in the second half of Saturday’s game by the Fever 61-26.
The New York Liberty lost for the second straight game on Saturday 85-71 to the Minnesota Lynx. The Liberty trailed at the half 54-38 and never challenged down the stretch. Tina Charles led the Liberty in the loss with 12 points. The loss was the Liberty’s fourth in its last five games.
Tiffany Hayes leads Atlanta in scoring with an average of 17.9 points per game. Angel McCoughtry is second in scoring and second in rebounding averaging 16.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Jessica Breland leads the Dream in rebounds with an average of 8.9 per game. Renee Montgomery leads the team in assists with an average of 2.9 per game. The Dream are scoring an average of 74.8 points per game.
Tina Charles leads New York in scoring and rebounding with averages of 20.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. The second leading scorer and only other player for the Liberty averaging double figures in scoring is Kia Nurse with an average of 12.3 points per game. Bria Hartley leads New York in assists with an average of 4.2 per game. New York is scoring an average of 78.8 points per game.
