In the second game of a Monday night NBA on ESPN doubleheader, the Denver Nuggets will travel to Staples Center to take on the Los Angeles Lakers. The Nuggets (43-21) are riding a five-game winning streak and trail Utah by three full games for the best record in the league. On Saturday, Denver assisted on 26 of their 39 made field goals during a 110-104 road victory against the LA Clippers.

All-Star C Nikola Jokic led all scorers with 30 points to go along with 14 rebounds and seven assists. Michael Porter Jr. contributed 25 points and seven rebounds for the Nuggets.

The Los Angeles Lakers have dropped three straight games and have fallen into a three-way tie for fifth place in the Western Conference standings. Last night, Los Angeles was outscored by 19 points during the second quarter of a 121-114 home loss versus Toronto. The Lakers (36-28) assisted on 31 of their 42 made field goals and shot 48 percent overall.

Kyle Kuzma led six Los Angeles players in double figures with 24 points in 36 minutes off the bench. Andre Drummond added 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Lakers.
