On Friday, Dallas built a 23-point halftime lead and coasted to a 113-100 road victory versus lowly Houston.
All-Star G Luka Doncic tallied a game-high 30 points to go along with 14 rebounds and six assists. Dwight Powell contributed 26 points and 12 rebounds for the Mavericks.
The Boston Celtics are riding a five-game winning streak and trail Philadelphia by a half-game for third place in the East. On Friday, Boston limited Detroit to 13 points over the final 12 minutes of a 114-103 home victory. The Celtics (41-27) outrebounded the Pistons by a 47-42 margin and shot 47 percent from the field.
All-Star F Jayson Tatum led all scorers with 31 points on 13-for-27 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds. Jaylen Brown chipped in 22 points and eight rebounds for the Celtics.
