Chicago Bulls 2020 Recap - NBA Odds, Picks & Betting Predictions

The Chicago Bulls are one of just eight teams in the NBA that will not restart the regular season on July 30. When the regular season was suspended on March 12th, Chicago had already been eliminated from postseason contention. The Bulls finished their regular season 22-43, with a record of 14-20 at home and 8-23 on the road. Chicago had lost seven of its last 10 before the season was suspended due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Zach LaVine was the leading scorer for Chicago with an average of 25.5 points per game. Lauri Markkanen was the second leading scorer and leading rebounder with averages of 14.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, while Tomas Satoransky led the Bulls in assists with an average of 5.4 per game. Chicago had six players that averaged double figures in scoring during the abbreviated regular season.

The Chicago Bulls will go under a big overhaul during the offseason as new Executive Vice President of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas will attempt to rebuild the Bulls by keeping a foundation of Zach Lavine, Wendell Carter Jr., Lauri Markkanen, Kris Dunn, Daniel Gafford and Coby White. There has been rumors that one or two of the players just mentioned could be  traded in exchange for an elite level player. While LaVine was the leading scorer for the Bulls, White became the leader on the court as the point guard matured during the season after being chosen with the No. 7 overall pick in 2019.

Chicago has not won a championship in the last 22 seasons and over that span are combined 179 games below the .500 mark. The Bulls must acquire or draft a low post player who can score and rebound as well as protect the rim on the defensive end. Markkanen is an able-bodied scorer and rebounder but not at the level the Bulls need on a night in and night out basis across an 82-game NBA regular season.

Expectations are not very high in the Windy City for the 2020-21 NBA regular season as the Bulls are not expected to contend for the Central Division title and will be one of the fringe teams attempting to qualify for the Eastern Conference playoffs by grabbing a seventh or eighth place spot in the conference standings.
