In Saturday night NBA action, the Boston Celtics will invade Little Caesars Arena to face the Detroit Pistons.
The Celtics are riding an eight-game winning streak and are looking to assert themselves as the best team in the Eastern Conference. Last night, Boston scored 42 points during the first quarter of a 129-108 home victory versus Atlanta. The Celtics knocked down 19-for-49 from long distance and shot 48 percent overall.
Kyrie Irving led five Boston players in double figures with 24 points in 24 minutes of action. Gordon Hayward contributed 19 points and five assists off the bench for the Celtics.
The Detroit Pistons have lost six straight games and have dropped to the .500 mark overall. On Wednesday, Detroit was unable to make the plays down the stretch of a wild 108-107 road loss at Charlotte. The Pistons blew an 11-point lead entering the final quarter and limited the Hornets to just 41 percent shooting overall.
Detroit F Blake Griffin tallied a team high 26 points to go along with ten rebounds and seven assists. Andre Drummond added 14 points and 13 rebounds in a losing effort for the Pistons.
