Cavaliers at Wizards 11/8/19 - NBA Picks & Predictions

In Friday night NBA on ESPN action, the Cleveland Cavaliers will travel to Capital One Arena to take on the Washington Wizards. The Cavaliers have lost three straight games for first year head coach John Beilein and own a minus six point differential. On Tuesday, Cleveland was unable to contain Boston F Gordon Hayward (39 points) during a 119-113 home loss. 

Second-year pro Collin Sexton led six Cleveland players in double figures with 21 points on 6-for-15 shooting. Tristan Thompson added 19 points and 13 rebounds for the Cavaliers.

Not much was expected of the Washington Wizards this season and they have stumbled to losses in five of their first seven games. The Wizards play at one of the fastest tempos in the league and rank fifth in scoring at 116.8 points on average. On Wednesday, Washington was torched for 44 points during the second quarter of a 121-106 road loss against Indiana.

All-Star G Bradley Beal led all scorers with 30 points, but needed 29 shot attempts to get there. Thomas Bryant contributed 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Wizards in defeat.

Washington G John Wall is expected to miss the entire season while recovering from an Achilles injury. These two teams rank in the bottom third of the league in defensive efficiency.
