Cavaliers at Hornets 12/19/18 - NBA Picks & Predictions

The Wednesday NBA schedule will tip-off with a matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Charlotte Hornets from the Spectrum Center.

The Cavaliers have lost 23 of their first 31 games and are one of the worst teams in the league. Last night, Larry Nance Jr. tipped a shot in at the buzzer to lift Cleveland to a 92-91 victory at Indiana. The Cavaliers limited the Pacers to just 40 percent shooting on the night.

Rodney Hood led a balanced Cleveland scoring attack with 17 points and six rebounds. Larry Nance Jr. contributed 15 points and 16 rebounds for the Cavaliers. The Charlotte Hornets have dropped consecutive games and are tied with Orlando for first place in the disappointing Southeast Division standings. On Saturday, Charlotte was outscored by 23 points during the third quarter of a 128-100 home loss versus the Lakers. The Hornets were pounded on the glass by a 63-44 margin and shot just 42 percent from the field.

Malik Monk led Charlotte with 19 points on 7-for-14 shooting in 29 minutes off the bench. Kemba Walker missed 11 of his 13 field goal attempts and finished with a season low four points.

Cleveland F/C Tristan Thompson is expected to miss the next two to four weeks with a sprained left foot. The Cavaliers rank last in the league in defensive efficiency and are playing on consecutive nights, so the over is worth a look. The stronger play is on a well rested Charlotte team to take care of business and cover at home. Final Score Prediction, Charlotte Hornets win and cover ATS 120-101.
