Boston Celtics at New York Knicks 10/20/21 - NBA Picks & Predictions

The World’s Most Famous Arena will play host to a Wednesday night NBA meeting between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks. The Celtics finished a disappointing 36-36 last season and were bounced by Brooklyn in the first round of the playoffs. The future remains bright for Boston with the talented wing combination of Jayson Tatum (26.4 ppg) and Jaylen Brown (24.7 ppg).

On Friday, Boston was outscored by 15 points during the fourth quarter of a 121-100 road loss against Miami. All-Star F Jayson Tatum tallied a team-high 23 points on 8-for-19 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds.

The New York Knicks overachieved in Tom Thibodeau’s first year at the helm, but were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Atlanta. The Knicks (41-31) played at the slowest tempo in the league and finished third in defensive efficiency. New York F Julius Randle (24.1 ppg) is the unquestioned leader of the team and won the league’s Most Improved Player. 

Last time out, New York completed an undefeated preseason with a 115-113 home victory versus Washington. Julius Randle nailed the game-winner and Derrick Rose led the Knicks with 28 points.
