Boston Celtics at Golden State Warriors 6/2/22 - NBA Picks & Predictions

Last Updated: 05/30/2022 at 5:19 PM ET

The NBA Finals will tip-off on Thursday night, when the Boston Celtics invade the Chase Center to take on the Golden State Warriors. The Celtics have won six of their eight road games to start the postseason and rank second in defensive efficiency. On Sunday, Boston raced out to a 15-point lead after one quarter and held on down the stretch to earn a 100-96 series clinching road victory against Miami.

All-Star F Jayson Tatum tallied a team-high 26 points to go along with ten rebounds and six assists. Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown contributed 24 points apiece for the Celtics.

The Golden State Warriors are playing in their sixth NBA Finals in the last eight years and have been established as -160 favorites to win this series. The Warriors are undefeated at home through their first nine playoff tries and rank first in offensive efficiency. Last time out, Golden State shot 51 percent from the field to close out Dallas by a 120-110 final score in Game Five of the Western Conference Finals.

All five Golden State starters scored in double figures and were led by Klay Thompson with 32 points. Draymond Green added 17 points, nine assists, and six rebounds for the Warriors.

F Otto Porter Jr. (foot), G Gary Payton II (elbow), and F Andre Iguodola (neck) are all being listed as questionable for Golden State. The Celtics have the size inside to pose matchup problems for the Warriors and I like their chances to steal Game One on the road. Final Score Prediction, Boston Celtics win 108-103.
