The Las Vegas Aces look for their fifth straight victory when they visit the Connecticut Sun on Friday in a showdown between two of the top three teams in the WNBA. The Aces improved to 19-9 on the season with an 84-79 victory over the Phoenix Mercury. Liz Cambage led the Aces with 19 points. Las Vegas outrebounded Phoenix 50-39 and shot 42.9% from three-point territory.

Connecticut improved to a league-leading 20-7 after defeating the Dallas Wings 78-68 for its third straight victory. Courtney Williams led the Sun with 18 points. With the win, Connecticut clinched its spot in the WNBA postseason and kept its one game lead at the top of the Eastern Conference over the Washington Mystics.

Liz Cambage is leading in scoring and rebounding with averages of 16.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game for the Aces. A’ja Wilson is the second leading scorer and second leading rebounder for Las Vegas with averages of 16.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Jackie Young leads the Aces in assists with an average of 4.3 per game.

Jonquel Jones is the leading scorer and leader in rebounds for the Sun with averages of 14.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Jasmine Thomas is the third leading scorer with an average of 11.8 points per game and leader in assists with an average of 5.3 per game. Four players for the Sun are averaging double figures in scoring.

This matchup between conference leaders could be a prelude to the WNBA Finals. The Aces have A’ja Wilson back from injury and are riding a four-game winning streak. With Wilson and Liz Cambage down low, Las Vegas has one of the league’s top frontcourts. Connecticut has struggled with covering at home failing to cover 4 of the last 5. Final Score Prediction, Las Vegas Aces win and cover ATS 83-79.
