76ers at Celtics 12/12/19 - NBA Picks & Predictions

Last Updated: 12/11/2019 at 11:43 PM ET

The Thursday NBA schedule will tip-off with a matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics from TD Garden. The 76ers (18-7) have lost seven of their 12 road games and are currently in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. On Tuesday, Philadelphia made the plays down the stretch of a 97-92 home victory versus Denver.

All-Star C Joel Embiid led Philadelphia with 22 points to go along with ten rebounds and six assists. Tobias Harris contributed 20 points and seven rebounds for the 76ers.

The Boston Celtics (17-6) are one of three NBA teams that have yet to lose at home and are led by first-year PG Kemba Walker (21.8 ppg). Last night, Boston was outscored by 15 points during the fourth quarter of a 122-117 road loss against Indiana. The Celtics turned the ball over 15 times and connected on 14-for-36 from long distance.

Kemba Walker had his best game as a Celtic, pouring in a game high 44 points on a 16-for-28 shooting performance. Jaylen Brown added 18 points, eight assists, and eight rebounds for the Celtics.

Boston G Marcus Smart (illness) missed his second straight game and is listed as questionable for this contest. These two teams rank in the top six in the league in defensive efficiency, so the under is worth a look. The stronger play is on Philadelphia to steal one on the road. Final Score Prediction, Philadelphia 76ers win and cover ATS but grab the points just in case 105-100.
