Last Updated: 08/20/2019 at 8:09 AM ET

Major League Baseball will take place for the first time in London, when the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox square off on Saturday afternoon. New York has won 11 of their previous 12 games and has opened up a 6.5 game lead over Tampa Bay for first place. On Wednesday, the Yankees rallied from an early five-run deficit and homered for a MLB record 29th straight game during an 8-7 home victory versus Toronto.

Thirty year old right-hander Masahiro Tanaka (5-5 3.21 ERA) continues to be a model of consistency in the New York starting rotation. The Yankees have won each of Tanaka’s last three starts and he has allowed six runs over his last 21 plus innings. The Boston Red Sox will be the home team at London Stadium and home to play much better than they have at Fenway Park, where they are just 20-20 on the year. On Wednesday, Boston was unable to hold on to a one-run lead entering the ninth inning of an 8-7 home loss versus Chicago. Rafael Devers collected three hits and scored three runs for the Red Sox, who are nine games back of the Yankees in the AL East Division standings.

2016 Cy Young Award winner Rick Porcello (5-7 4.52 ERA) will draw the starting nod for the Red Sox. Last time out, Porcello was tagged for eight hits and five runs in six innings during a 6-1 home loss versus Toronto.

Boston OF Andrew Benintendi (legs) will be back in the lineup for this contest. Through 80 games, New York ranks 4th in OPS and 4th in runs scored. For the season, Boston ranks 6th in OPS and 7th in runs scored. There will be plenty of home runs, as the center field fence is just 385 feet away from home plate. Take the over on Saturday. Final Score Prediction, New York Yankees win 8-6.
