Yankees at Red Sox 10/6/18 - MLB Picks & Predictions

Game Two of the ALDS between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox will take place on Saturday night from Fenway Park. Last night, Aaron Judge homered in the ninth inning but the Yankees could get no closer during a 5-4 defeat. Luke Viot had two hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Yankees, who struck out 13 times in a losing effort.

Twenty-nine year old righty Masahiro Tanaka (12-6 3.75 ERA) will head to the hill for the Yankees in this contest. In four starts versus Boston, Tanaka was roughed up for 29 hits and 16 runs in just 19 innings. The Boston Red Sox won a major league best 57 home games during the regular season and are two wins away from advancing to the ALCS. On Friday, J.D. Martinez connected on a three-run shot in the first inning to get Boston going. Andrew Benintendi had two hits and scored twice for the Red Sox, who had eight hits as a team.

Thirty-three year old southpaw David Price (16-7 3.58 ERA) will look to exercise his postseason demons. Price has started nine playoff games and owns a dismal 2-8 record to go along with a 5.03 ERA.

Boston 2B Dustin Pedroia (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of the postseason. Through 162 games, New York ranked 16th in batting average and 2nd in runs scored. For the season, Boston ranked 1st in batting average and 1st in runs scored. The Yankees own Price and will even the series with a win on Saturday. Final Score Prediction, New York Yankees win in upset 6-4.
