Yankees at Rangers 9/29/19 - MLB Picks & Predictions

In Sunday afternoon MLB action, the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers will square off from Globe Life Park. Last night, New York SP Luis Severino (1-1) walked four batters in three innings during a 9-4 road loss against Texas. Didi Gregorius cleared the bases with a double in the ninth inning for the Yankees, who are 45 games above .500 overall.

Thirty year old right-hander Masahiro Tanaka (11-8 4.47 ERA) will head to the hill for the Yankees in this contest. Last time out, Tanaka allowed one run over seven innings during a 9-1 home victory versus Los Angeles.

The Texas Rangers have won 44 of their 80 home games and will finish the season with a losing record overall. On Saturday, Rougned Odor crushed a grand slam in the sixth inning to power the Texas offense. Scott Hieneman added two hits and scored a pair of runs for the Rangers.

Thirty-two year old righty Lance Lynn (15-11 3.76 ERA) will take the ball for the Rangers in the season finale. In his last start, Lynn struck out 12 batters in five plus innings to lead Texas to an 8-3 road victory against Oakland.

New York DH Edwin Encarnacion (oblique) was held out of the lineup on Friday and should be fine for the postseason. Through 161 games, New York ranks 3rd in OPS and 1st in runs scored. For the season, Texas ranks 16th in OPS and 12th in runs scored. Take Texas to win a game that has become meaningless for New York for playoff positioning. Final Score Prediction, Texas Rangers win 6-3.
