On Saturday, New York SP Masahiro Tanaka allowed just one hit over six innings during a 7-0 road victory. Gleyber Torres hit one of the three home runs by the Yankees on the night.
Thirty year old left-hander James Paxton (15-6 3.82 ERA) will make his second career postseason start for the Yankees. Last time out, Paxton gave up three runs across four plus innings of a 10-4 home victory versus Minnesota in Game One of the ALDS.
The Houston Astros won a major league best 60 home games during the regular season and will now have to win at least one road game to advance to the World Series. In Game One, Houston batters did not manage an extra base hit and struck out six times. SP Zack Greinke gave up three runs in six innings and took the loss for the Astros.
The Astros will counter with 2011 Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander (21-6 2.58 ERA) on Sunday. Through ten plus innings this postseason, Verlander has fanned 13 batters and allowed four earned runs.
