Last Updated: 08/20/2019 at 8:26 AM ET

In the first game of a Tuesday day-night doubleheader, the Chicago White Sox will take on the Detroit Tigers from Comerica Park. Last night, SS Tim Anderson collected three hits and scored twice to spark Chicago to a 7-4 road victory against Detroit. All-Star SP Lucas Giolito struck out eight batters and allowed three runs in six innings to improve to 12-5 for the White Sox.

Rookie right-hander Dylan Cease (1-4 6.43 ERA) will make his sixth career major league start for the White Sox. Last time out, Cease gave up seven hits and four runs in seven innings during a 4-0 home loss versus the Mets. The Detroit Tigers have lost 37 of their 50 home games and have been a trainwreck since the early part of the season. On Monday, SP Spencer Turnbull struck out seven batters in three innings but was removed with a pitch count of 76. JaCoby Jones connected on his 11th home run for the Tigers, who lost for a major league worst 76th time.

The Tigers will counter with talented left-hander Daniel Norris (3-8 4.67 ERA) in the opening game of the doubleheader. In his last start, Norris allowed three hits across five shutout frames to lead Detroit to a 9-1 road victory against the Angels.

Chicago RP Carson Fulmer has landed on the 10-day injured list with a strained right hamstring. Through 110 games, Chicago ranks 28th in OPS and 28th in runs scored. For the season, Detroit ranks 29th in OPS and 30th in runs scored. Look for pitching to dominate two weak lineups in a game that will stay under the total. Final Score Prediction, Detroit Tigers win 4-3.
