AL Central Division foes will battle on Monday night, when the Chicago White Sox invade Comerica Park to face the Detroit Tigers. Last night, Yoan Moncada struck out to end the game with two runners and Chicago lost at home to Cleveland by a 5-4 final score. C James McCann homered and drove in a pair of runs for the White Sox, who fell to 8-8 on the season.

Thirty-two year old southpaw Dallas Keuchel (2-1 2.55 ERA) will take the mound for the White Sox in this matchup. Through 17 plus innings, Keuchel has allowed just one home run and posted a sparkling 0.96 WHIP.

The Detroit Tigers have slugged their way to victories in eight of their first 13 games and are one of the biggest surprises in the majors. On Sunday, SP Spencer Turnbull (2-0) allowed five hits and one run in seven strong innings to lead Detroit to a 2-1 victory at Pittsburgh. The Tigers completed the three game sweep and outscored the Pirates by a 30-17 margin. 

2016 AL Rookie of the Year Michael Fulmer (0-0 13.50 ERA) will start for the Tigers in the series opener. Last time out, Fulmer was rocked for four runs and recorded just eight outs during a 14-6 home loss versus Kansas City.

Chicago SS Tim Anderson (groin) is headed to the team’s alternate training site to resume workouts. Through 16 games, Chicago ranks 9th in OPS and 12th in runs scored.
