The Chicago White Sox travel on the road to divisional rival Kansas City Royals. Chicago came into the season as a trendy up and coming team who if they put it together could make a real impact on the American League, well they’ve won two straight games improving their record to 24-15 on the year and firmly in the playoff picture in the AL. The Royals have lost four straight games, including opening this series with the White Sox losing 7-4 and dropping their record on the season to 14-25.

The White Sox offense, led by Jose Abreau are one of the best offense in the MLB this season. With a team batting average of .270 to rank 2nd in the MLB and averaging 5.26 runs per game ranking 7th in scoring defense, the White Sox offense looks to be capable of boosting them to a playoff run.

Taking the mound for Chicago is Dallas Keuchel who is 5-2 on the year and is posting a 2.42 ERA. Keuchel has allowed just two home runs and walked 12 in 48 innings of work while striking out 30 in that time. The White Sox pitching staff comes in with a team ERA of 3.80 on the year to rank 8th in the MLB.

The Royals come in with a team ERA of 4.68 on the year to rank 18th in the MLB and will send out the solid Brad Keller who is 3-1 on the year with a solid ERA of 1.93. Keller faced a touch Indians lineup his last timeout and put together a solid 6 innings of work, allowing just three hits and one run striking out 4 on his way to a win.

Kansas City struggled at the plate as a team batting .239 as a team to rank 19th and are averaging just 3.9 runs per game to rank 29th in the MLB this season. Whit Merrifield has been one of the few bright spots leading the team batting .261 and driving in a team-high 22 runs.

The White Sox have too mean weapons at the plate for a struggling Royals team, especially one that will have to face the streaking Dallas Keuchel who comes in with a 2.42 ERA on the season. Although the Royals will have a solid starter in Brad Keller taking the mound, the White Sox powerful offense scrapes up enough runs to gain and early lead and continues to build on that against the Royals bullpen. Final score prediction, Chicago White Sox win 7-4.
